Fall is here, and if you’ve ever lived in Dallas, you know that autumn is really just a normal summer for most other people. The temperatures drop from a steamy 100 degrees to a cool 90! As summer fades, we get to actually enjoy being outside!
There is nothing I love more than playing outside with my kids, having dinner on the patio or just relaxing after a long day with a glass of wine on our front porch. It brings a great sense of calm to be outside in the natural elements.
We just purchased a new home, and I am having the best time designing it! From the paint color to the countertops and backsplash, it’s all coming together quite lovely. But so much of what made me fall in love with our new home was also the elevation and the lot itself. It has the perfect little porch for me and my husband to sit on and watch our kids play in our magnificent backyard. I can already see many family baseball games in our near future.
When you think of your dream outdoor space, what does it look like?
Does it have fantastic views of rolling hills? This photo is one of my favorites. It has an exquisite view and a perfectly placed fire pit for roasting marshmallows and making s’mores (yes, sweets are my weakness!)

Outdoor spaces don’t have to be elaborate to be magical. Maybe your dream outdoor space is something simple like the photo below. I saw this image while doing my daily perusing on Pinterest and fell in LOVE. What’s perfect about this is that you can do this in any backyard. Yes, maybe you won’t have this beautiful old tree, but you can still do everything else. What kid wouldn’t want to enjoy movie night out back?
