Holiday Decor: Tips for Decorating Your Home for Easter

April 5, 2017:

Deborah Opalacz, Lead Design Consultant Houston Design StudioI just love decorating for Easter! In fact, it seems I now have a renewed passion for holidays as a grandmother of two: 4-year-old Karsyn and 3-month-old Olivia.  I also can’t help but think it’s because I’m ready for a shameless excuse to add a pop of pastels and rabbits to my home décor. Whether your style is shabby chic, modern, traditional, or a little funky, Easter decorating injects a cheerful and fresh air into your home after a long cold winter. Today, I’m bringing you some of my favorite Easter decorating ideas, from fun and funky wreaths to festive spring tablescapes. An Easter luncheon (or barbecue) has to be one of the highlights of the day, so a festive tablescape is a must! Fresh flowers and greenery bring a bit of the outdoors in, but to make it feel a little more like Easter, I’d add these darling little grass bunnies and ceramic eggs. The only problem is the holidays seem to roll around so very quickly that as soon as a wreath goes up, it is time to take it down and replace it with the next one.  A wreath puts the finishing touches on your home. Hanging a wreath in the front entry creates a warm and welcoming first impression to your guests.Whether you are decorating for the holidays or for the different seasons, a decorative wreath hung on the front door is a fun and festive way to express your personal style. Until next time- remember not too many chocolate bunnies!
