The Atlanta Design Team

Christina Paolino, ASID

Design Studio Consultant
Christina has been designing custom homes since 2002. Before coming to Ashton Woods, she was Senior Designer for Touchstone Homes. Christina uses her paralegal educational background to balance her creative side, finding her inspiration for design from travel and art. She is particularly passionate about Mexican folk art and French Industrial design. Christina believes the homebuilding process is a personal experience, and should reflect your own passion and style.

Camilla Adams

Design Studio Consultant
Prior to coming to the Ashton Woods Studio I worked in Retail Home lines planning and buying merchandise, analyzing trends in color and style, space and display planning. I had 30 sales people who worked directly for me but when opportunity allowed I enjoyed working with the customers, learning about their homes and helping to select the personal décor items that worked for them. At “The Studio” I love that I work one on one with my homebuyers on a much more personal level helping them plan their homes. I love to sew. When I am updating a room I will often make draperies, pillows or bedding if I can’t find what I want in the stores but this may go on the back burner as I just became a Grandma. Soon you may find me at the playground or the zoo. My best design advice as you make selections at the studio for your new home. Don’t sweat the small stuff, this is just the backdrop. It sets the stage for your furniture, art and personal décor that brings life to your home.

Julie Jones, ASID Associate

Design Studio Consultant
The thing I enjoy most is making a home look great from the items we have available in the time frame allowed for a wide range of buyers and their wide range of budgets. Something fun about them…I make my clients laugh and enjoy the process. What they do in their spare time… there is no spare time, every minute counts! Best design advice they have… Do not worry about the details. I will take care of those. Show me something you love and I will figure out how to get it in your home! My personal Design Philosophy: There is always more than one way to achieve your design goals. Be sure you have as many places to sit in your living or family room as you have chairs around your dining table.

Melissa Strong

Design Studio Consultant
Melissa has been a Design Consultant with Ashton Woods for a year. As former preschool teacher of 15 years Melissa decided to go back to school for Interior Design. She went to Gwinnett Technical College and received her degree in Interiors as well as a certification in Kitchen and Bath design and Faux Finishes. She enjoys helping our buyers create a beautifully designed home that they will enjoy for years to come. In her spare time Melissa enjoys spending time with her family and friends, creating memories with her son and being crafty. If she could give one bit of advice to all of her clients it would be: Building a home is a fun experience. Relax and trust your designer to help you make the best decisions. Remember to laugh and have fun.

Shelden Dobras, BFA, MID

Design Studio Consultant
Shelden was born and raised in Savannah, GA, but now calls Atlanta her home. She graduated from Brenau University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts and a Master’s Degree in Interior Design. She accumulated design experience in hotel design, clubhouse design, model apartment decorating, and residential design prior to joining AW in early 2015. She played collegiate volleyball, and in her free time, enjoys playing any kind of sport, riding her bike, going to the lake and spending time with her husband and their four legged children. Shelden loves that at Ashton Woods, she can be creative every single day. She gets to explore many different artistic styles and broaden her design experiences through her client's eyes. Shelden would like to pass along a helpful tip to buyers: design for the big picture- do not place utmost importance on individual aspects of your design. Instead, focus on the entirety of the space to create a cohesive environment.

Nytzia Arana, BFA

Design Studio Consultant
Nytzia, a graduate of Savannah College of Art and Design, found her passion for interior design after styling and directing photo shoots in the fashion industry. After fashion, she quickly joined the interior design industry. Her extensive knowledge of colors and fabrics sprung from her experience in remodeling homes, designing and setting up showrooms, trade shows, and floral shows throughout the country prior to working at Ashton Woods. Her love for travel, cultures, and recycling inspires many of her designs and often times results in a combination of old world and the new. Nytzia knows how overwhelming selections can be at The Studio and reminds buyers that: "the journey of a thousand miles began with one step" and "knowing what you don't want is as important as knowing what you want."
