Magnolia, TX was settled in the 1840s. It has gone by several names, including names “Mink’s Prairie” or “Mink,” but today it’s known simply as Magnolia. If antiquing and shopping are your goal, then Magnolia and the surrounding area are sure to please, Magnolia boasts diverse shopping and great bargains. A variety of local cuisine and gourmet fare are right in Magnolia. Whether it’s Texas chicken fried steak or chicken masala, Magnolia has several dining choices and don’t forget to stop by Yellow House Café where ghosts are said to reside. The city hosts the annual Texas Renaissance Festival, a beloved medieval festival that takes place over seven weekends in October and November, as well as other seasonal events (during mudbug season, you’ll definitely want to hit up the Crawfish Shack).
